Read this carefully. By accessing or using any AI feature in Bible Study Pro (the "Service") you accept this AI Disclaimer in full. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and our AI Guarded Intelligence Constitution, and survives termination of your account.
1. What this Service is
Bible Study Pro uses large language models (currently Anthropic's Claude family of models) to produce study aids, devotionals, scripture cross-references, prayer suggestions, sermon outlines, and tutor-style responses to user prompts. All such output is AI-generated content within the meaning of Article 50 of the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) and equivalent transparency obligations in other jurisdictions.
Whenever AI-generated content is presented in the Service, it is identified to you as such, either visually, in surrounding copy, or both. By using a feature labelled as AI-powered you confirm that you understand the content was produced by a machine learning system and not by a human author.
2. What this Service is not
The Service is not, and must not be used as:
- A substitute for the Bible itself, or any inspired text;
- Pastoral counselling, spiritual direction, confession, or covering;
- Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment;
- Mental health, crisis, or suicide-prevention services;
- Legal advice or representation;
- Financial, investment, tax, or accounting advice;
- Marriage, family, or child-rearing counsel;
- Career, vocational, or employment guidance;
- Prophetic interpretation, dream interpretation, or confirmation that any communication is "from God";
- An emotional anchor, companion, or relational substitute.
If you are in crisis — including thoughts of self-harm, harm to others, or an emergency — close this app and contact your local emergency services, your pastor, a qualified counsellor, or a crisis line. The AI is programmed to redirect you to these resources but it is not, itself, a crisis resource.
3. No advice. No directive output. No automated decision-making.
The Service is engineered, by design, not to give you advice or direction on personal matters. It will not tell you what to do, what God is saying to you, whether you should leave a relationship, take a job, give an offering, accept a calling, confront a person, move country, or any other personal-life decision. When asked for such advice, it is programmed to redirect to Scripture, prayer, and pastoral counsel.
For the purposes of Article 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679; the "GDPR"), the UK GDPR, and equivalent provisions in other jurisdictions: the Service does not subject you to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you. The Service produces study material; you make decisions.
4. AI output may be wrong
Large language models can and do produce errors, omissions, hallucinations (fabricated citations or facts), out-of-date information, theological framing you disagree with, and translation imperfections. This is a known and unavoidable characteristic of the underlying technology at the present state of the art.
We work hard to reduce these — through prompt engineering, retrieval grounding where applicable, the AI Constitution described on the AI Guarded Intelligence page, evaluation suites, and human review. We cannot eliminate them. You must verify every claim, citation, and quotation against an authoritative Bible translation and trusted commentaries before relying on it — for personal study, for teaching, or for any public use. "Test all things; hold fast to what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21.)
5. Your responsibilities
By using AI features in the Service you agree that you will:
- Treat AI output as a starting point for study, not as a final source of truth;
- Verify scripture citations against an authoritative translation before quoting them, especially in teaching, preaching, publishing, or sharing online;
- Take all material life decisions to prayer, to the Word, to your pastor or elders, and to qualified counsellors — not to this app;
- Disclose AI assistance where required by your church, denomination, employer, school, publisher, or applicable law (academic integrity policies; AI-disclosure rules in journalism, publishing, and ministry);
- Not use the Service to deceive others into believing AI output is human-authored where that deception would matter;
- Not represent yourself as receiving prophetic, pastoral, or counselling input from a human when the input came from this Service.
6. Acceptable use of AI features
You may not use the Service to:
- Generate content that contradicts core orthodox Christian doctrine or that mocks the historic Christian faith;
- Generate hate speech, harassment, sexually explicit content, content sexualising minors, or content advocating violence;
- Generate content intended to deceive, defame, or impersonate any real person without consent;
- Attempt to extract, override, or jailbreak our system prompts, the AI Constitution, or any safety guardrail, whether by direct instruction, prompt injection, encoding tricks, or otherwise;
- Use the Service to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark a competing AI model or service;
- Use the Service in any manner prohibited by Article 5 of the EU AI Act, by US Executive Order 14110, or by any applicable national or state law on AI.
We may suspend or terminate access for any breach, without refund, and may report credible suspected illegal use to the relevant authorities.
7. Transparency notice (EU AI Act Article 50)
In accordance with Article 50 of the EU AI Act, we disclose: the Service uses general-purpose AI models supplied by Anthropic PBC. The output you receive in any AI-powered feature is generated or substantially modified by an AI system. Where applicable, the system prompt governing that output is the AI Constitution summarised on the AI Guarded Intelligence page. You can request further information about the model in use at the time of any specific output by writing to hello@godchaserpodcast.com.
8. Human oversight
The Service is supervised by a human team responsible for: monitoring AI behaviour against the Constitution; reviewing user-reported defects; running quarterly pastoral-advisory review; and updating system prompts, safety filters, and policy when needed. You may request human review of any AI response that you believe breaches our Constitution by using the in-app report function or the email above.
9. Risk classification
We classify the AI features in this Service, in good faith, as limited risk under the EU AI Act risk taxonomy (informational and educational support tools that do not, of themselves, take consequential decisions for the user). We do not deploy the Service in any of the prohibited categories of Article 5, and we do not use it for any of the high-risk use cases listed in Annex III. If our use ever evolves into high-risk territory we will conduct a fundamental rights impact assessment, register the system where required, and re-publish this disclaimer accordingly.
10. Training and model improvement
We do not use your private journal entries, prayer requests, prophetic log entries, or notes to train AI models. Prompts that you submit to AI features are processed by Anthropic in line with their commercial API terms and are not, by default, used to train Anthropic's general models. See our Privacy Policy for the full data flow.
11. Indemnification for AI misuse
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Godchaser Movement, AIONIQS Ltd, their officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your misuse of AI-generated content in violation of this Disclaimer; (b) your republication of AI output without verification; or (c) your use of the Service in a jurisdiction where doing so is prohibited.
12. Disclaimer of warranties (AI-specific)
ALL AI-GENERATED CONTENT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITH ALL FAULTS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE OUTPUT WILL BE FREE OF ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR DOCTRINAL DEVIATION.
NOTHING IN THIS DISCLAIMER LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER MANDATORY LAW — INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY WHICH CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER THE LAW OF YOUR JURISDICTION.
13. Limitation of liability (AI-specific)
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF AI FEATURES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100). WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR SPIRITUAL, EMOTIONAL, OR RELATIONAL HARM ALLEGED TO RESULT FROM RELIANCE ON AI OUTPUT.
14. Changes to this Disclaimer
We will update this Disclaimer as the law evolves and as our use of AI evolves. Material changes will be announced by email and on the home page at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Forward-looking compliance commitment
We commit to monitoring and aligning with, at minimum, the following frameworks as they mature:
- EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) — provisions phasing in 2025–2027;
- EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679);
- UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR;
- UK government's pro-innovation AI regulation framework (2023 White Paper) and any successor statute;
- US Executive Order 14110 on Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy AI (or successors);
- NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF 1.0) and Generative AI Profile;
- Colorado Senate Bill 24-205 (effective February 2026) and equivalent US state AI legislation as enacted;
- California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA;
- Brazil Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD);
- OECD AI Principles and the Council of Europe Framework Convention on AI.
Where any provision of this Disclaimer conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable law in your jurisdiction, that mandatory provision prevails and the rest of this Disclaimer remains in force.
16. Governing law
This Disclaimer is governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the unwaivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence — that right we explicitly preserve.
17. Contact
